| Kotahi Toi Wakawhiti. This work is part of a concept I have been working on, that of interactive art. Art that can inspire peoples own creativity, like building blocks for grown-ups. For this reason we have wired the pieces on each side so they can hang any way and in any formation. Toi whakawhiti tahi represents four different elements - Stones, Vegetation, Paua Shell (NZ abalone), and Wood (Rakau) Carving. These are all key components of daily life here at Poranui Beach (Birdlings Flat) and have been for many generations. |
